Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park
Phong Nha Ke Bang is a National Park in Vietnam close to the border of Laos. You are constantly surrounded by green mountains, home to wildlife such as tigers, elephants and bears. Whilst you're here, there's so much you can do. The easiest way to get around is by renting a scooter but if you don't want to do that, you can explore with the many tour packages offered.
Hike the Botanical Gardens
Instead of pretty gardens everywhere, this is a strenuous hike through the national park and you will need to wear suitable shoes. You will also need to hold on to rope whilst abseiling down the path - as mentioned, not an easy hike! Whilst there you'll see many birds, monkeys and amazing viewpoints. You'll immerse yourself in the green surroundings and be at one with nature.
Meet Donald Trump the buffalo at the Duck Stop
This is the most random thing you will do in Phong Nha but will have you laughing in stitches the whole time you are there. After a very bumpy ride to this farm, you can feed some ducks. But it's not like being at home and feeding ducks. It's having loads of ducks chase you for food and even eating from your feet! The farm also has a buffalo that you can take a ride on called Donald Trump.
Walk through the Paraside Cave
To get here, you can either take a tour bus or rent a motorbike. It's a lengthy walk up the stairs leading to the entrance of the Paradise Cave and you can walk 1km into the cave. It's full of so many stalagmites and stalactites that vary in shape and size, it's stunning.
Zipline down to a mud bath in the Dark Cave
The Dark Cave is surrounded by the bluest water and is great for those who love activities. You can zipline down to the entrance and then swim into the cave, then follow a trail and take a mud bath. It's really fun having to explore in the dark with just a light on your head. You do have to be careful not to bump your head on the stalactites though. On your way out, you kayak back to the showers and changing rooms and can stop off at a total ninja style rope course over the water!
