Climb the steps of Hang Mua
Take on the 500 steps to the Hang Mua peak to enjoy the mountainous green views of Ninh Binh. At the top, you will reach a stone dragon and an amazing viewpoint surrounding you. Hang Mua has been developed as an eco tourism complex so expect a lot of tourists here, however; it's still breathtaking. Although it's the Hang Mua caves, it's actually more known for its viewpoint.
Take a boat trip in Trang An
In Trang An, you can take various boat trip tours through the mountains of Ninh Binh. There are lots of options that include visiting river caves and seeing the famous King Kong's cave. The boat is a row boat with your own local guide who takes you through some of the most picturesque views you will have ever seen.
Visit the ancient capital, Hoa Lu
Once, the ancient capital in the 10th and 11th centuries, but now a few remains, temples, shrines and monuments can be seen. The place is surrounded by the great green mountains and provides a great walk around a place which was full of activity as a capital.
Visit Tam Coc, the Halong Bay on land
Those who describe Tam Coc has Halong Bay on land do not under exaggerate. With the many rock formations and limestone cliffs constantly surrounding you and seeing the locals working in the rice paddies, you get a true feel of the life of those who live in Tam Coc.
Take a bicycle tour
It's a easy way to get around and the roads are generally quiet with the places you visit being off the beaten track. You will find yourself visiting pagodas as well as cycling through the many cliffs and rice paddies that Ninh Binh has to offer.
